CA Foundation
It is an entry level test for the Chartered Accountancy course, which is held twice in a year in the months of May and November. It is conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) for admitting students to the Chartered Accountancy course.
CA INTERMEDIATE
The next step after the CA Foundation examination is CA Intermediate (earlier known as IPCC) Course. It is an intermediate level test for the Chartered Accountancy course, which is held twice in a year in the months of May and November. It is conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) for students who have cleared CA Foundation examination or is a graduate & has registered with ICAI after graduation.
CA FINAL
The last leg of the Chartered Accountancy course is Final course, which has been designed to impart expert knowledge in financial reporting, auditing and professional ethics, taxation, corporate laws, strategic financial management and advanced management accountancy.
Eligibility
- You must have passed 10+ 2 examination or class XII examination from a recognized institution.
- In case the result of class XII has not been declared at the time of registering for CA Foundation, the students can apply for provisional registration.
- Must complete 4 months of study period before appearing for Foundation examination. Therefore a student must register before 30th June/31st December of the respective year to be eligible to appear for November/May examinations respectively.
- Passed XII- No restriction on minimum percentage required for eligibility
Exam Details
Prerequisite for Intermediate exam: Undergo and complete Four Weeks Integrated Course on Information Technology and Soft Skills (ICITSS)
In Intermediate only working knowledge of core and allied subjects relevant to accountancy profession is imparted. This is a descriptive type examination.
Passing criteria – 40 marks in each paper & 50% in total
Group 1 – 100 Marks each paper
- Accounting (100 marks)
- Corporate and Other Laws (Company Law 60 & Other Laws 40) Total 100 marks.
- Cost and Management Accounting (100 marks)
- Taxation (Income tax Laws 60 & Indirect Taxes 40) Total 100 marks.
Group 2 – 100 Marks each paper
- Advanced Accounting (100 marks)
- Auditing & Assurance (100 marks)
- Enterprise Information Systems (50) & Strategic Management (50) Total 100 Marks
- Financial Management (60) & Economics for Finance (40) Total 100 Marks
Exam Details
At the Final level, advanced application knowledge of core and allied subjects is being inculcated.
CA Final exams are conducted twice every year in the months of May and November. The dates do not change except under extraordinary circumstances.
